Monaco has secured their place in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season after securing a 2-0 victory over Lille on Tuesday night.
The win was all the more impressive given that Monaco had already clinched their spot in the group stage of the Champions League this season, and were therefore able to field a weakened side for the match against Lille.
Despite the fact that Monaco had already qualified for the competition, they still needed to secure a win at Stade Louis II to ensure they finished above Lille in Group H.
And they did just that, with goals from Yannick Carrasco and Bernardo Silva ensuring that Monaco would finish top of the group and automatically qualify for the Europa Conference League.
It's been a tough season for Monaco so far, as they have struggled to find consistency in their performances, but their fans will be pleased with the result and the team's determination to fight until the end. With the Europa Conference League being a less prestigious competition than the Champions League, Monaco will hope to make the most of their chance to play in Europe's premier club competition next year.
